'Credit Crunch' Poster 16.10.08

Acting quickly on a quick idea that I had during dinner on Monday night, I created a new poster and added it to RedBubble on Tuesday. I called it ‘Credit Crunch’:

Credit Crunch Poster

You see, I don’t usually take too much interest in the economy in general; it proves hard enough to keep my own economic situation in check. But the recent credit crisis situation seems to be permeating the minds and therefore mouths of everyone at the moment; wherever you go, you hear about it. Ominous quotes and predictions are thrown around at home, the pub, the shop counter; everywhere.

So anyways, the idea came shooting into my head during an episode of Deadwood (that might explain the language) and I put the design together the next morning: Sweary / slang words using potent currency symbols as the first letter; A quote I love by Ashleigh Brilliant at the bottom to try and up the mood somewhat; Helvetica Neue Bold throughout because it does such a lovely job with currency symbols (check out that Euro symbol); 100% black background to emphasise the doom-y feel.

So I had the idea and I made it, in a quick turnaround. Perhaps the concept could have been refined somewhat, but I enjoyed making something of an idea quickly rather than procrastinating on it.

It’s available as a Poster or a Card for now…
