Video Wall 21.11.08

Remember those computer games that they used to play live, over the phone, on Saturday morning shows like Live & Kicking?

And they were played on a big screen which was made up of about 20 separate CRT monitors with the video spread out over all of them? And then sometimes, when the presenter was talking to the camera, the wall of screens in the back would feature different things happening on each monitor? And then, they installed them in various high street music stores and it was like the most futuristic thing ever? And then they kind of disappeared with the advent of widescreen / big LCD monitors?

Well, since then I’ve always missed these ‘video walls’, so I thought I’d make one myself using embedded flash video from around the web. You can click play on them all and create a manic visual masterpiece (tho you might want to turn the sound down) or you can just watch one at a time.

It would be nicer if they all had an interface as nice as vimeo’s but nonetheless, this is the best I can do for now.

So here we are, a few videos I’ve been enjoying: Laura Marling, Ghosts, Ute, The Ute Traveling Chorus, Fleet Foxes, White Winter Hymnal, Changes by Lorcan Finnegan, Devendra Banhart, At the hop, Rainbow Junk. The Nightsmith.
